Crowdfunding, or participatory loan financing, is very popular in Belgium. It allows anyone to lend money, via an internet platform, to a company that will repay the loan with interest. And real estate is benefiting. Developers are increasingly using this financing technique to bring their projects to fruition. In 2019 alone, Look & Fin, the leader in crowdlending in Belgium, raised a whopping €15 million in Belgium for property projects. This sector is by far the No. 1 in crowdlending, with 55 %.
