My investor profile

There are two categories of investor:

  • "Informed" investors, whether individuals or professional clients, must meet certain criteria as defined by the European regulation. Recognition of this status is not automatic and must be applied for in accordance with the conditions set forth for this purpose on our platform.
  • "Uninformed" investors are all the others.

To determine your non-informed 'investor profile' and find out how much you can invest:

Complete the knowledge and experience test and answer the questionnaires on :

  • Your personal situation
  • Your knowledge
  • Your investment goals

Simulate, if you wish, your ability to bear losses.

Depending on the result, you can either invest without limit, or be limited to €1,000 or 5% of your net assets per investment (whichever is greater).

To invest, you also need to identify yourself:

  • Fill in your personal details, including your address, nationality, country of residence for tax purposes, your IBAN, etc.
  • Provide supporting documents needed to validate your profile as part of anti-money laundering procedures:
    • If you are an individual: a valid form of identification (identity card, passport, driving licence, etc.) and proof of address less than 3 months old.
    • If you are a legal entity (a company): a valid identity document for the legal representative, an extract from the commercial register less than 3 months old, a copy of your latest certified articles of association and a declaration of the beneficial owners of your company (i.e. natural persons directly or indirectly holding more than 25% of the company's capital).

Once everything has been completed and your documents approved by our team, you will receive an email notification that your profile has been validated and will be able to start investing.

With BeeBonds, discover and invest free of charge in local projects and benefit from attractive returns on your savings.

BeeBonds organises two types of public offerings:

Square 2

Loan via a financing vehicle

What happens when I invest in a BeeBonds project?

You receive an annual interest payment. At the end of the project, you recover your entire initial investment.

Here's an example:

You invest €10,000 in a 3-year project offering a return of 8% gross per year (illustration).
The total amount you will have received will be €12,400, which is €2,400 more for your savings (before the 30% withholding tax).

FAQ

Registration is online and requires you to identify yourself. You will be asked to complete a knowledge and experience test designed to establish your investor profile.

If you wish, you can calculate your net assets using the tool provided online. This calculation will enable you to determine your investment limit per project (if you fail the knowledge test).

Under current European regulations, if you fail the knowledge test, your investments will be limited to €1,000 or 5% of your net assets per project (whichever is greater).

If you do not wish to define your net worth, you will simply be limited to investing €1,000 per project until you have passed the knowledge and experience test.

You can retake your knowledge test 3 consecutive times. And you can retake it every month.

Interest is paid once a year on the anniversary date of the bond issue or loan.

The amount paid is based on the rate set out in the key investment information sheet.

Interest is paid directly into your bank account (entered in your investor profile).

The capital is repaid on the maturity date of the bond or loan set out in the key investment information sheet.

Funded companies are obliged to provide quarterly reports informing you of the progress of the project.

You can consult this information on the BeeBonds platform (in the project section).

For individuals resident in Belgium, 30% withholding tax is deducted at source from the amounts you receive.

As a result, you do not have to report this income on your tax return and you do not have to pay any other tax on this income.

For companies, interest is paid gross.

Investing in a crowdfunding project involves risks, including the risk of total or partial loss of the capital invested.

Please refer to the risk warning and carefully read the key investment information sheet for each project.

The aim is to prevent project promoter who use crowdfunding services from subsequently having to deal with too many creditors. In practical terms, an investor invests in a financing vehicle, which in turn uses the funds received to lend these funds to the project promoter chosen by the investor.

For each project financed on the platform, BeeBonds sponsors a beehive in partnership with the urban beekeepers U Keepers.
